Bajaj 400 CS will be based on 200NS silhouette but will be bigger in proportion. The bike has an aggressive front profile with a brand new headlamp. The tank of this beast would be muscular in looks and it will also come with a digital console along with gear shift indicator with white back light.

5. Hero HX 250R

Hero had shocked everyone when it debuted the HX250R earlier this year. Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo India, the HX250R is Hero's first complete in-house development without any inputs from its erstwhile partner Honda. The HX250R has been designed and engineered in collaboration with the company's technology partner Erik Buell Racing, AVL and Engines Engineering: enriching it with typical sports calibre.

The HX250R is constructed on an all-new lightweight Geodesic Tubular Frame which is incorporated with similar trellis-shaped swing arm. Suspension setup is traditional telescopic at the front while the rear wheel has mono-shock setup but to make the bike flickable, the rear shock absorber is mounted on the left of the motorcycle to shorten the wheelbase.

The most crucial bit of this new bike is, undoubtedly, its heart. The HX250R is powered by a newly-developed 250cc single cylinder, water-cooled motor, developed completely in-house without accessing any technical credentials of Honda. The motor produces power of 31 BHP which is simply surprising, atleast on paper, if potential of existing players in its competition is considered. This motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and stopping power comes from a 300mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. ABS will also be on offering but as an optional package.

6. Hero Hastur

Hero MotoCorp had proved that the latest event was quite happening -the 2014 auto expo wherein a lot of new launches were showcased. Thus had indeed left many onlookers surprised. One of the biggest attractions among them was the Hastur, a street fighter bike jointly engineered by Hero and its partner, EBR.The Hastur gets a yellowish trellis steel tube chassis with an aluminum sub frame, extending the swing are giving a rough look to the bike. The tank is huge and complements the minimalist bodywork. The seating looks really comfortable and smooth.

The instrument console at the centre of the handle bar has readings pertaining to bike’s parameters being clearly displayed on analog and digital gauges. Moreover, laden with LED tail lamps, Hero Xtreme 200 S features comprise of a red hued belly pan and tank shroud, wherein the latter furthers engine cooling and enhances the overall aesthetic appeal.

8. Hyosung GD250N

Manufacturers like Bajaj and KTM have already set their foot in this segment and now Hyosung is ready to make its presence feel with the GD250N in the same class. The GD250N is a proper naked motor motorcycle that has to be positioned against the likes of KTM Duke 200 and Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS in the Indian market. The model made its first public debut in India at the 2014 Auto Expo where we were impressed with its overall fit and finish and build quality.

10. BMW G310R

Displaying a mean and aggressive demeanour, BMW G310R sports a huge 11 litres fuel tank with sharp fairings and chiselled cowls showing ’R’ badging, golden coloured USD forks at front, a V shaped front headlamp, and Red/Blue stripes running all across the body. Once launched, BMW G310R price is expected to be in the range of Rs.2 lakhs to Rs.2.5 lakhs (Ex Showroom, New Delhi) and will face competition in the form of KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo 300, and Bajaj Pulsar CS400, among others. BMW G310R colours will come resplendent in shades of Strato Blue Metallic, Cosmic Black, and Pearl White Metallic. BMW G310R is equipped with a 313cc water cooled fuel injected petrol powerplant further mated to a six speed manual transmission gearbox system.
